Why I started The City
I created THE CITY because my life was changed through experiences of adventure.
Travel didn’t just show me new places — it exposed parts of me I hadn’t seen before. It challenged me, stretched me, and ultimately helped me grow into a more honest and grounded version of myself.
When I first came to Colombia, I was spontaneous and full of life — but also anxious, insecure, and constantly trying to please others. Through the people I met and the experiences I walked through, I began to change.
I’m not the same person Colombia first met.
That transformation didn’t happen by accident — it happened through intentional experiences, meaningful community, and space to grow.
That’s why THE CITY exists.
We create one-week experiences rooted in community, culture, and faith in Jesus — designed to give you space to step away from the noise, reflect on your life, and grow into who you were created to be.

Hi, I’m Lauren!
I’ve always loved people, conversation, and exploring new places. Growing up, road trips with my family turned into a deeper desire to see the world — especially across Latin America.
In 2019, during a gap year in South America, I encountered God in a new and personal way. Something in me knew it was the beginning of a much bigger adventure.
Since then, I’ve studied international business and worked cross-culturally in different environments, gaining a deeper understanding of both people and the world around me. These experiences have opened my eyes to needs that often go unseen — and have shaped a desire in me to be part of something meaningful.
My heart is to create spaces where people can experience real community, grow in their relationship with God, and live with greater intention in their everyday lives.
I’m still on that journey myself — and I hope that by sharing it, others feel encouraged in theirs.
